Hi there,

I have Air Sharing Pro v2.3 (6971), connected to an imac running OSX 10.6.4. I am able to print from the app when my EPSOM R210 is connected to my mac via USB, but not when my printer is connected to my AEBS wireless router (via USB). Remote printing via the AEBS poses no problems from my mac directly, but your app can't find the printer when it is connected to the AEBS. Why not?

I.e. when I drag a file to my shared folder on my macbook, then the same file is seamlessly present in my iPhone and my iPad air sharing folders, a bit like iDisk is doing but I prefer using Air Sharing. Any suggestions.
The behaviour is different according to the file type. Docs are opened but a message says "wrong version".
Jpgs are not opened. I get the spinning wheel forever even for files as small as 30k.
I even tried this : import the sample Swinging.jpg file to the Mac, rename it witouth even opening it and transfer it back to iPhone. Bingo ! AS can't open it anymore !

I can email you as many samples as required.
Also. Could you clarify what .doc files are readable ? Office 95 97 98 XP ?

Hi,

I have non-typical setup for connecting to my iPhone since I do not have a wireless router with me. I have my Mac connected to Internet via Ethernet and I have shared this connection to my iPhone over Airport using "Internet Sharing" in the Sharing preferences. My iPhone is able to connect to the Internet via this setup. I am sure that my iPhone is not using the 3G/Edge data connection.

I am able to connect to the iPhone from my Mac via Safari and browse the Air Sharing drive. However, now comes the issue. I am not able to connect to Air Sharing via Finder. Nor, when I am connect via Safari, I am able to upload large files (I have tried this with 2 files of 200 MB and 650 MB, each). On clicking the Upload button in Safari, Safari endlessly shows "Loading".

All other apps on the iPhone, such as, Apple Remote, Rowmote and Document 2 To Go work fine. I am also able to ping the iPhone from the Mac.

Please advise.

Hi all. I use a great little app called Bonjour Mounter to connect to my network drives automatically when I enter my network. As of late, I've been trying to setup Bonjour Mounter to connect to my iPhone's Air Sharing server automatically (just as a work-around to the command-k thing), but I have had no luck. I've emailed Bonjour Mounter's developer over the issue, but he and I are both at a loss.

The dev says Bonjour Mounter essentially runs a script to execute the command-k command when it finds a drive, however, we have no idea what to enter to setup the drive. Bonjour Mounter automatically grabs the server name (see screenshots), but we are unsure whether we ought to name a specific port. Also, we have no idea what to enter for the share name, which is a required field.

Appreciate any help in advance.

Hi
I couldn't find this issue in any of the other threads so I'm guessing its not common.
Once connected via Bonjour I get a disconnection message in Finder followed by a -35 error after copying files for about 3 to 5 minutes. It seems that this only happens with groups of larger files. Once I reconnect and drag the same set of files to the mounted volume I get 1 of 3 things happening, it will either a) start the transfer again into a new file leaving the old unfinished one in place, b) say the file cannot be copied as a file with the same name already exists in that location or c) say it cannot be copied as I do not have sufficient privileges even though I have the admin account and have full read and write privileges on the file I'm trying to copy.
This only happens on my home network and my work network works fine. I'm running OS 10.6.2, iPhone OS 3.1.3 and an Orange Livebox wireless router.

I can connect to my Mac mini, browse to files (pdf's) and whenI click on them in ASpro, it "copies" them and opens them.

Later, when on the road I don't see the "copied" files on my iPhone.

Am I supposed to find them in ASpro, or somewhere else? If I go to the file browser, I just see the sample folders nothing else.

I am hoping someone out there has an effective method for synchronizing their local Air Sharing Pro documents with a mac. My current method involves Chronosync, but this is successful about 20% of the time. Even if there is only a single file that has changed since the last sync, Chronosync wants to replace all 9000+ files on Air Sharing since the file attributes don't match. I guess this isn't too surprising since WebDav seems to ignore most file attribute data. Is there a way around this? What usually ends up happening is either Air Sharing or Chronosync ends up crashing (after letting in run for a couple hours) and then I have to start all over. I've had a lot of success transferring folders from my iMac (running 10.6) to Air Sharing Pro using Cyberduck instead of the Finder. I hoped that the "synchronize" feature in Cyberduck would do the trick, but I also have file attribute issues there, as well. Furthermore, Cyberduck wants to synchronize hidden files even if I tell it not to. This never happens it all other situations that I use Cyberduck in. Any suggestions? Trying to keep track of which files have changed and replacing them manually is not a feasible solution for me since on any given day I may modify 50+ files that are scattered across various folders.

Hi, I've bought this app but cannot get it to function. I've spent the last 5 hours going through the forums and following all previous advise but to no avail. :(

I setup a network on the macbook and connect to it from the iphone. This works fine as I also share the internet from the macbook back to the iphone....no problem there so the wifi component is working.

I start up Air sharing Pro, and I cannot connect to it from Finder (either via the sidebar or using Cmd K).

If I open Safari, and clicked to show Bonjour in the menu bar, then there is a link that shows for iphone....but if I click on it I get an empty page and unable to connect. Same if I use Cmd+K and try to search for the iphone (using either the IP address or Bonjour) it cannot find the iphone.

I've tried a command line Ping also and nothing...

I'd greatly appreciate any advice here as otherwise I've bought a product for nothing.

Many thanks

I am using an iMac running 10.5.7 with Printer Sharing on to a Brother DCP 7030 connected via usb to the mac. I can print my test pdf file from the mac to the printer without any problem. But when I upload the pdf to my iPhone and try to print, I get a continuous "Searching for printers…" and nothing happens. I have waited for over ten minutes and it never finds my printer.

Hi,

Although I've read a lot of your comments on these support pages and I followed all kind of tips to enable Air Sharing on my MacBook Pro / iPhone 3GS ... it isn't possible to connect again.

As soon as I want to connect to my iPhone ... [I use http://10.0.1.3:8080] I get a message back which says: Connection Failed. I also tried to PING via the Terminal application which belongs to Mac OS X (Snow Leopard) but get 'timed out' messages. It seems that there is no connection with the phone at all.

What is the next step I should undertake as I'm completely lost now ...

Thanks in advance for your swift support.

Kind regards,

I'm also having trouble with this. I downloaded AirSharing tonight and have not been able to connect my computer (mac 10.4.11) to my iPhone 3G :X

I've tried rebooting my iPhone, rebooting my computer, resetting my iPhone network settings, 'Forgetting the network', creating new networks and NOTHING WILL WORK.

I don't have a jailbroken iPhone.

My iPhone is seeing my wireless network (in the settings), but I cannot connect to it in AirSharing via the supplied IP Address.

I also tried inputting the IP address into Safari and the page did not load.

Further to this, I just tried to 'ping' my iPhone with the IP address that AirSharing gave me. It was not successful.

I really don't know what to do, and it is quite frustrating to download an application that doesn't seem to work with my iPhone, when as far as I can tell, I am doing everything correctly (according to the tutorials).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm almost about ready to give up on this and try another application - one that might actually work!!!!!

Hello all.
The glitch synopsis :
When airsharing is running, I can see the ipod in my bonjour list, however I cannot connect to it.
This includes the bonjour menu via safari, connecting to the ipod's ip address in safari, connecting to the server via finder by bonjour name as well as ip address. If i ping the ipod by bonjour name, it will resolve to the correct ip address, but only get "no route to host" and "host is down" responses.

As well, the ipod cannot view websites hosted on the macbook. During the same sesssion I can connect to any other site on local network or web.

I also have an older mac mini on my network, and it is able to connect successfully to the ipod via safari, as well as the ipod can access sites hosted on the mini.

Connecting via the local wireless network and also by ad-hoc directly from the macbook pro both fail in the same way.
The ipod is visible to the macbook, but neither can actully connect.

I was able to successfully connect the macbook to the ipod at work however. I had the macbook on a network cable to the office network, which also has a wireless router on the same network. The ipod was then connected via the wireless router in the office. With the macbook airport turned off, the ipod and macbook were able to communicate successfully.

From what I can see there is a possibility of a glitch of some type with the airport chipset in my macbook pro.

AirPort Card Information:

Wireless Card Type:	AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x8D)
Wireless Card Locale:	USA
Wireless Card Firmware Version:	Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.38.35)
Current Wireless Network:	lepton
Wireless Channel:	1

note : lepton is an airport express router, with no wired network ports, so at home I cannot connect at all currently.

I have been working this glitch for a few weeks now on my own with no success. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
