Hello everybody.

I'd like to come back to this topic:
http://www.avatron.com/support/read.php?11,8960,8960#msg-8960

I've got the same problem: if i log on to Core FTP Server with my iPad some folders look empty. But renaming folders and files is no option because there are almost 4.000 folders and more than 40.000 files on my hard drive ...

Can the problem be solved with another FTP Server. Filezilla Server perhaps? Or WS FTP?
I tried Filezilla, but my iPad doesnt not connect to the server. I cant even see the iPads connection request in filezillas log-window and cant find out a reason for that. I dont use SSH and I left the password open for an anonymous authentification, but it doesnt work...

The connection between iPad and PC should generally be ok, because the iPad is mounted as a drive on the PC and if I send a ping I get a ping answer from the iPad. And - as I said above - the iPad connects to Core FTP ( with the described problem), but the connection itself from iPad to PC works.

Can somebody give me some hints how to configure Filezilla or another freeware FTP Server on WIN7 and establish a connection to an iPad with Air Sharing HD?

greetings

I was using HD Air Sharing on my iPad, wifi model. I had an XP laptop and everything worked fine. I got a new lap top that is 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium. HD Air Sharing will not connect AT ALL to this computer. I have read the forums and have tried everything, to include Anyclient. I have turned off firewall. Nothing. I cannot even go to the iPad in my web browser any more. It simply refuses to connect at all.

Any ideas (and please don't tell me it is a bug in Windows).

After configuring Air-sharing and making connection to PC (WindowsXP, Office 2003) it works very fine and I've got no problems.
But I have to use password-securing for a couple of files. I'm using this on PC's-side by normal function of i. e. Excel. After copying an excel-file via Air-sharing to my iPhone (3Gs) it is stored on iPhone and I'm able to mark it as any non-secured file. But trying to open the file a screen appears telling me that this file is protected by a password. But there is no button or anything else to type in password or do anything else.
What is the problem ? How can I solve this ? Thanks for any answer and help. Andreas

I read the forum and tried to reset the WIFI connection (forget this network). This works, but not always. Also, it is not a real solution, because I need to do it each time I want to connect to Air Sharing.
I just purchased your software and I am unable to map a drive.

I am using an Iphone 3GS .

My home network runs via a D-link DIR-655 router.

One machine running Windows 7 32 bit is connected via an Ethernet cable . The other is wireless running Windows Vista 32 bit.

When I try to map a drive in either machine it continues to ask me for a username and password . I have the security features off on your software in the phone.

I am able to ping the Iphone with no trouble . I am also able to access the internet via my network with the Iphone .
Any help would be appreciated .
However, when I connected my Ipod Touch to my PC, I found that air sharing did not come into my ipod touch. I tried to copy it into ipod numerous times, but failed (I'm not a beginner, I have used my ipod for almost 1 year).
Also, I deleted and downloaded it several times but it was not copied into my ipod at all.
I phoned APPLE Korea to solve this serious problem thinking that it was sync problem, but after an hour-long talk, APP Korea said it must be a problem in the app, not in Itunes. I believe you can solve it for me or you can refund.
Pls help me use your excellent app. I bouhgt it (at $9.99) because I need it.

*Based on the instructions from Apple Korea, I deleted and installed Itunes 5 times, I deleted and installed Air sharing more than 5 times, I tried to copy it into my ipod touch for more than 20 times.
Good Morning,

Having set up the connection successfully I have hit a brick wall in that I am getting error messages for every file I attempt to transfer. The file appears to be on the phone, but shows zero bytes. The error messages are as follows:

Error 0x80070057: The Parameter is incorrect

Error 0x80070021: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file

Hopefully someone will be able to help.

Cheers,

Using SFTP from iPod Touch some folders are empty (no replies)

** This was a problem which since posting I have already solved! However, I'll leave this post here in case it's of use to someone else.

Summary: When viewing a remote folder using SSH (SFTP), Air Sharing Pro will show a folder as empty if it contains any subfolders which have non-standard characters in the name.

I'm running Air Sharing Pro ver 2.1.2 on a 2nd Gen iPod Touch 16 GB. I want to access the files on a PC on my home network from my iPod Touch and have run into a problem.

I have CoreFTP Server set up and running on a Windows XP PC on my home LAN. This is the PC I want to access the files on.

I've set up a server connection in the Air Sharing Pro app on my iPod Touch using SSH (SFTP) which connects to the CoreFTP Server on my XP PC, and I can view all the folders in the root directory just as expected - So far so good!

Most of the folders in the root directory show the right number of files in them. However, one folder says "No items" and when I try to open it, even after waiting a few minutes, remains empty. I can view the contents of the other folders ok, just not this one. The only thing I can think of which is different is that this folder has over 800 subfolders in it (for my music collection). Does Air Sharing Pro (or possibly CoreFTP) have a problem retrieving this many subfolders? Another folder (with photos in it) has over 100 subfolders and I can browse it fine.

Thanks for your help. I'd appreciate hearing your suggestions.

Further info: I tried connecting to my Windows XP CoreFTP server using an FTP program on another PC on my home network. I can list the contents of the problem folder using the ftp program, but I noticed the following status message while doing so:

"Invalid character sequence received, disabling UTF-8. Select UTF-8 option in site manager to force UTF-8."

Okay so the "invalid character sequence" was the problem after all! I went through all the subfolders in the problem folder, and renamed any which had non-standard english characters in them (like letter o and u with an umlaut over them eg. in the German spelling of Bjork). Now instead of being empty, I can view the full list of subfolders (all 850).

I have a Vista computer and recently I noticed iTunes was starting to crash. By this I mean when it is started the opening screen comes up and the bar at the top is about half way across saying "Opening iTunes Store". Then it never goes any further and the red X in the upper right corner of the app wor't kill it. I have to use Task Manager to get it to stop. Other applications like Internet Explorer still work fine. This is consistent until I reboot the computer.

After some troubleshooting I discovered the probelm. It seems to never occur until I run the current version of Air Sharing and then it is always a problem. This is consistent and repeatable. Initially I had the mapping set up using the Bonjour string but I changed it to the TCP/IP string and it made no difference. Is anybody else having this problem?

I just copied a bunch of files (about 350mb worth) to my iPhone from my Windows 7 laptop using Air Sharing.

When viewing the file list on the iPhone (or through the WebDAV share on the laptop), the modified dates are all today's date instead of the date on the file before I copied it to the phone. In other words, every file now has a date of 12/10/2009. This causes problems when I use my comparison utility to keep my Air Sharing folder in sync because everything on the iPhone appears to be newer.

Is there a way for Air Sharing to preserve the last modified date?

I'm currently running Windows 7 x64 and my iPod is a 64GB iPod Touch running 3.0 with the latest version of AirShare (non-pro). Since the software first came out over a year ago (and back when I had my 32GB touch) I've had the same problem:

When I attempt to copy a large (>1gb) file to the airshare over a mapped drive, the transfer will fly right along until there is 5 seconds left, and then just hang. I can't close the window and have to log out and back into Windows. It has done this with Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003, Server 2008 and now Windows 7. Is there a fix for this? A workaround? Anything?

I've tried connecting a couple different ways using Airshare Pro from my Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit OS and keep getting "Network Path Not Found" connection timeouts. Here is some background

Environment
* iphone 2g OS 3.0.0
* air share pro v2.0.2l
* air share pro is started on the iphone before connected
* tried connecting after disabling my wifi card in my laptop and reconnecting to get a new IP address.. still same problem / error
* tried with passwords and without passwords
* tried with public and non public connection
* web client windows service has started and is set to automatic

Attempts
with windows firewall on (tried using password, no password, public and non-public)
1) bonjour address http://my-iPhone.local:8080
2) bonjour address http://my-iPhone.local:8080/
3) ip address http://192.168.0.14:8080
4) ip address http://192.168.0.14:8080/
with windows firewall off (tried using password, no password, public and non-public)
5) bonjour address http://my-iPhone.local:8080
6) bonjour address http://my-iPhone.local:8080/
7) ip address http://192.168.0.14:8080
8) ip address http://192.168.0.14:8080/

I keep getting the same problem.. it's timing out and just hanging trying to open the window. I tried pinging my iphone IP address and I get the following repsonse:

C:\Users\tj>ping 192.168.0.14

Pinging 192.168.0.14 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 192.168.0.14: bytes=32 time=174ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.14: bytes=32 time=78ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.14: bytes=32 time=110ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.0.14: bytes=32 time=126ms TTL=64

Ping statistics for 192.168.0.14:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 78ms, Maximum = 174ms, Average = 122ms

So I'm assuming the connection is ok. Any thoughts?
