The viewing is no Problem.

If i connect my IPOD to itunes, the backup starts and it need 2h or more to make the Backup from the IPOD.
Yesterday i delete all files in Air sharing an the Backup will need only 3 minuts.

What can i do, that i muss not delete all files before i connect the ipod to itunes.

I'm looking for an app that will copy, over Wifi, pictures and HD Videos took with my iPhone to a PC (to avoid having to USB-plug the phone).

Can Air Sharing do this ?

I was able to connect fine. I was able to drag to my air share folder on my Mac but I can't figure out how to get information from my iphone and get it to Air Share. For instance I want to take all my notes on my iphone and drop them in to Air Share. Is this able to be done. There is nothing like browsing for folders or information that I could see. Or is this a one way street? only from Mac to Air Share? and
not from iphone to Air Share.

I just purchased Air Sharing and I would like to move a folder full of MP3's to my Ipod Touch. Is there a way to do this? Also how do I create folders?

Have the regular (non pro) version and want to upload 1000 or so basic word docs to airshare.

Logging on and uploading works fine, catch is how to upload the whole lot in one hit.

Is there a way? (Im not particularly technically minded so step by step guide would be awesome!)

I have a bug report. If I tap the Done button while playing an MP4 video, the video cannot resume where I left off if I replay it.

It once can resume correctly a few versions before. Please fix.

When navigating to the iDisk's 'Documents' folder a pre-populated sign-in window repeatedly pops up on the iPhone screen. Upon selecting the 'OK' button within that pop-up box, the pop-up disappears momentarily but then immediately reappears, as though an incorrect user name and password had been entered. (Accepting the pre-entered log-in name and hidden password, or re-keying the MobileMe user name and password makes no difference.) Selecting the 'Cancel' option at this point brings Air Sharing Pro back out to the previous directory level. On some occasions I can scroll down some way through the 'Documents' folder and even select the 'Edit' button on the top right of the screen, but eventually the pop-up box will reappear, blocking the selection and transfer of files. Curiously, at the top center of the screen header, just above the box showing the MobileMe iDisk name there is now a lock symbol which I did not notice before the update. There have been no problems connecting to the iDisk from my Mac, either mounting it on the desktop or accessing it via web browser. Likewise, I can still access files stored in Air Sharing Pro on the iPhone via Bonjour and the Mac's browser interface.

Also since the update, I have lost the ability to print, although no hardware has changed and the network is the same as before: a laser printer attached straightforwardly via Ethernet cable to an Airport Extreme, which in turn connects to a laptop either via WiFi or wirelessly, as circumstances dictate. The Mac, Airport, printer and iPhone have all been routinely power-cycled a number of times.

Previously, while reading documents with Air Sharing, I could rotate my phone to its side on order to display in landscape view. If I then rotated the phone so that it was inverted (with the Home button and dock connector pointing up), the screen would stay in landscape mode and would not rotate back to portrait unless I turned the phone right side up, with the home button pointed toward the ground. But now, in Air Sharing 2.2.1, inverting the phone WILL cause the screen to rotate back to portait mode, with the top of the document being displayed at the Home button end of the screen.

This new behavior isn't what I want. I like reading in bed while on my side, using landscape view, and the emulated "rotation lock" you guys previously supported when the phone was inverted was perfect. Did you mean to remove that? Has it become an Air Sharing Pro feature now or something?

I know that there is an OS-level orientation lock coming in iPhone OS 4, but reports indicate that it only supports locking the screen in portrait mode. (Granted, last I heard, that limitation was just a rumor--if you know differently, please advise.)

Any comment on this? Specifically, any chance we might get this "feature" back?

When transferring, I have just recently (within the last two weeks) started to receive the following message. "The operation can’t be completed because an item with the name ___ already exists." It started all at once, happens on all three machines, both versions of Airsharing and its happening constantly. What does not work: relaunching the Finder, ejecting and remounting the iPod/iPad, making sure the trash is empty, rebooting the iPod/iPad, rebooting the Mac, changing the name of the file. It even happens on new files I create. What does seem to work to some extent is: transferring only files (folders will no longer transfer), waiting some variable amount of time after I get the error message, minutes to hours, then trying again.

(1) I use IMAP mail. How can I set IMAP Path Prefix? When I connect to my mail server, I see my home directory content, and I have to navigate into my mail folder to see mail contents.
(2) When I connect to our main computer using sftp, how can I specify my user directory as the login directory? When I use just the server name, first I see the root directory, and I have to navigate to /home/myUserName/ to see my files. How can I get to server:/home/myUserName directly?

it has been suggested that your App may be what I am looking for...

I have an iPhone 3GS and a late 2008 MacBook and I need to have them talk to each other despite I will be where there is NO internet connection (except what the iPhone gets from a satellite) and NO WiFi.

I need to do the following:
1) Receive an e-mail with a (Word, mostly,) attachment.
2) Download the attachment onto the laptop where I can do some work on it
3) Upload the same file onto the iPhone
4) Send it back via e-mail

Bonus points if I can get files in and out of my DropBox folder.

It is a bit of a shame I cannot try it before I buy it though...

I installed NetDrive, and tried to connect through it with no luck.

I am using Port 80, and the correct IP address of the iPod touch.

The error I get is:

Mounting drive Z: failed
Login failed. Please check the internet connection.
Could not connect to server: A system call that should never fail has failed.

I can ping from my laptop to my iPod no problem.
The laptop and the iPod are on the same WIFI network.

The laptop is running XP Pro.

I did all of the following with no luck:
1. Turn off and on the WIFI network
2. Change the Port number.
3. Forgetting the WIFI network from the iPod and then reconnecting to it.

I did not install any updates as explained in this article (the article for using WebDav):

because I decided to install and use NetDrive instead. (But I'm not completely clear that I wouldn't have to install the updates anyway.)

Can Air Sharing Pro copy files from iPhone to PC, and PC to iPhone?

Here is the situation:

I have an application that generates some plain vanilla text and is automatically put into the body of an email. I wish to copy the text from the email and paste it into an editor. Ultimatly I want to get this content onto my laptop.

I am in an area with no mobile phone or WiFi access.

My laptop running Windows Vista has a wireless network card and I want to set up an ad hoc network so that I can copy files from the iPhone to my laptop, and from my laptop to the to iPhone.

If I use AirSharing (freeware or Pro) on my iPad and view a QuickTime file with it,
what size will the movie display in? Normal iPhone size or will the movie-viewing subwindow expand
to use the whole display on the iPad?

I understand that the Airsharing UI itself may be limited to the usual iPhone size but
its not clear whether that applies to the movie-viewing window too...

Can anyone advise?

Where is the My Presentations folder that hold the files for Keynote, and how can I get files into it with Air Sharing? I can transfer files into Keynote via iTunes, but I bought Air Sharing to be able to do this wirelessly. Am I missing something?
