it appears to be a high density pdf file which has some pages scrambled just on my ipad. Any files or folders with sensitive names listed in the File Browser are clearly visible, which somewhat diminishes the security and privacy of the password protection!

[The iPhone version does not have this problem as the entire screen is covered by the password window.]

Aprox. 600 PDFs split into 50 folders totaling about 500 mb.

I'm using Windows 7 and I have Air Share HD on my 64GB iPad.

I have connected via "Map Network Drive" via WiFi and by way of a test, I copy an iso file which is 7GB. I have plenty of room on the iPad.

What happens is that it copies to 100% and then it says there's an error, press retry or cancel. After a couple of reties, I then cancel out.

PDFs and other files copy OK.

Can you copy any file so you can transport it to another computer? Or can you only copy document files or anything that the iPad understands?

I'm thinking that the iso file copy fails because it's not a valid or recognisable file. I was hoping that I could copy any file since I under-use the 64GB drive capacity of the iPad.

My problem is that I find a few things about it quite irritating.

1. Large PDFs.
Air Sharing seems to do a fairly poor job of handling PDF files. The smaller ones are alright, but it is a very frustrating experience to read large PDFs, as they seem to crash.

2. Image Rendering
I believe this is a known issue. It doesn't disturb me much, but i'm putting it in anyway

3. Web Interface
This is not an issue as such, but i would be grateful if the web interface of Air Sharing HD is improved. For instance, I can only upload files, not folders. I know I have the WebDAV option, but a web interface is great if I want to copy documents from somebody else's computer, with minimal configuration.

I am really annoyed with the PDF problem. I have a number of large documents stored, which are a pain in the ...um...neck.. to read. I read your responses on the previous threads, and you have been promising a new "solid" release for a long time. I am tired of waiting for this new release. Can you give me a time frame for your release?

I recently purchased your app in hopes to gain the ability to properly sort my photos for presentation portfolio. Although its able to sort the files by filename (a relatively simple task that Apple has chosen to ignore in their native Photo app!) there is a slight 1 second delay in displaying the next photo after I swipe which ruins the experience of flicking though the photos. The photos are not large in resolution, they are only 500kb to 1Mb and no more than 1600 pixels across. I was hoping for higher resolution images, however it seems as though your display down-samples the images even though they are copied to your filesystem at larger filesizes. I was hoping to get around the fact that iTunes "optimizes" all images down to 2048 when transferring over to the iPad. I would love to use your program as a viewer for my portfolio (but only if its able to display the images bit for bit). I came across your other thread there saying that there have been upgrades implemented July 25 and noticed that the version 1.1 I purchased was dated July 01 on the iTunes App site. I hope this means that there is an update soon that will address the issue of down-sampling, but what about the lag between displaying photos? I would like it to display even higher resolution photos without the lag. An added bonus would be able to play quicktime MOVs within the slideshow as iPad's native Photo app is able to do.

A real newbie question. Just installed ASHD, and it works like a charm via the IP address (see next paragraph). But, for some reason, I can't see the iPad as a Bonjour device in my finder window sidebar or on my desktop. I have Finders prefs set to show all items on my desktop including iPods and connected servers, and to show Bonjour computers under "shared" in sidebars.

I can mount it via Finder/Go/Connect to Server... and typing in the IP address. The iPad mounts as a device with that address in the sidebar and on the desktop and I can open it and copy files to and from it, no problem. Similarly, I can enter the IP address into Firefox and access the iPad via the web browser.

But, I'd like to have the ipad recognized on the iMac by its Bonjour name. What have I got set wrong?

Possibly related, I can make an alias of an iPad folder and put it on my iMac desktop and instantly mount and access the iPad that way, just as the help file says, but I can't drag the ipad folder into the iMac dock. It won't "take."

Dell Computer running Windows 7.
Dell v715w WiFi printer connected to the PC via USB cable.
Macbook that connects to the Dell v715w via WiFi.
iPad with WiFi.
Air Sharing HD installed on the iPad.

My Macbook can print to the Dell v715w via WiFi. I can print to the printer with the iPad connected to Macbook via USB. That defeats the purpose of the iPad and the Air Sharing HD, however.

I have shared the printer on the Macbook. The printer is showing up on the iPad, but when I hit the Print button nothing goes to the printer.

Can anyone else relate to this? What have you done to resolve the issue (if you were able to resolve it)?

I am using windows 2003 server with Alfresco Document server(Community Edition).
Yet, I can connect to the server and successful login.
I can veiw the folder structure
I can download the folders file.
However I cannot upload the file to the server!!!!
When I upload/copy/move the file to the server
The progress bar move. (iPad Air Sharing HD)
The server can see the dummy file name (Alfresco server)
However, when the upload completed. I prompt "Method not allowed" (iPad Air Sharing HD)
The dummy file name in server disappeared (Alfresco server).
Not log were found .....
What s going on?
Would you like to give me a hand??

Can you advise how I can temporarily switch off AirSharing HD so it does not hook any files in Safariand will allow me to install the profile?

It would be useful to have a "Temporarily switch off Airsharing" switch in the settings config but I dont see it anywhere (perhaps I've missed something?)

I'm considering purchasing Air Sharing HD, but there are a couple of specific features which I'd like to get clarification on.

1) For photos that I pull down from my Mac (e.g. via FTP), can it save those to the iPad's Photo Library app. i.e. not just in the local storage within the Air Sharing app itself but in the iPad's actual photo library from which of course other apps (like Photogene) can get access to them.

2) Similarly can Air Sharing store Videos in the iPad's photo library? Note - not the iPad's "Movies" app, I want them in the Photo app. Again this is so I can get at them from another app like ReelDirector which can access the Photo Library (but ironically can't access the Movies library).
